Our focus is always on the ethical delivery of individualized services that are practical for our clients and their stakeholders.

About Us

Dr. Zachary Bird is the Founding Consultant of Principled Behavior Consultants. He’s a Doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D) licensed in Virginia. He has more than 15 years of experience working with a variety of populations including individuals with developmental disabilities and conduct disorders. His expertise is in the assessment and treatment of severe disruptive behavior across a variety of settings. Additionally, he provides consultation with schools on classroom management and systematic instruction. He earned his PhD in Behavior Analysis at Simmons College and his master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Western New England University. His peer-reviewed research was published in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis. You can listen to him as a co-host of the ABA-focused Functional Relations Podcast.

Angie Bird is a Senior Behavior Consultant at Principled Behavior Consultants. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in Virginia who earned her master’s degree at Western New England University.  She is licensed as a behavior analyst in Virginia and has over 15 years of experience working with clients with special needs. She is primarily interested in teaching social skills and training parents but has a wide range of experience working with schools, in-home services, and center-based services.  She finds joy in teaching others about ABA and helping to make a difference in the lives of clients and their families.

Liz Brown is a Senior Behavior Consultant at Principled Behavior Consultants. As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in Virginia, Liz has been privileged to work with diverse student populations across various public schools since 2016. Her professional journey has taken her through a range of community, clinic, and in-home settings in both Virginia and North Carolina. While earning her Master’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis at UNC Wilmington, she engaged in clinical research treating pediatric feeding disorders in children. She hopes to use her experience to provide high quality and compassionate services to the clients at PBC.

Bryanna Godel is a Behavior Consultant at Principled Behavior Consultants and the Program Director at FUSE Day Support in Martinsville, VA. She joined PBC in 2021 as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in Virginia. She earned her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University in 2020. She has a background in working with individuals with mental health and substance abuse problems. Additionally, she has several years of experience working with children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities. She has a passion for helping individuals and families reach their goals.

Maura Turner is a Behavior Consultant at Principled Behavior Consultants and holds certifications as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in Virginia. She graduated from Mary Baldwin University with a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. She has dedicated the past four years to working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. She is passionate about teaching others how to apply behavioral principles in their daily lives and is deeply committed to helping her clients achieve meaningful outcomes.

Nicolas Johnston is a Behavior Consultant at Principled Behavior Consultants and a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) and Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst (LaBA) in Virginia.He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis, graduating cum laude from Capella University. He is currently pursuing graduate studies in ABA at the Florida Institute of Technology to become a BCBA. Starting his ABA career in 2019, Nicolas quickly gained experience across direct service and leadership roles, including serving as a Client Coordinator. His dedication is to delivering ethical, evidence-based care. Nicolas’s professional interests focus on promoting the generalization and maintenance of skills and using functional communication training. He is committed to empowering clients through collaborative, high-quality behavior analytic services.

Tia Bye is the Administrative Manager at Principled Behavior Consultants. She earned an associate’s degree in General Studies at Patrick & Henry Community College in Martinsville, Virginia. She is proud to support PBC with her organizational and secretarial skills, and to serve the community with compassion and generosity. 

Hope Noland is the Administrative Assistant at PBC. She earned her Associate’s Degree in General Studies at Virginia Western Community College in 2015. Since then, she has worked a variety of financial and administrative positions before landing with us in early December of 2024. She has two children who keep her going every day. She has a deep passion for mental and emotional wellbeing, which makes her even more happy to work here at PBC. In her free time she enjoys hiking, adventuring, photography, and spending time with her kids and family.
